In 1995, Mike Clayton and his brother Rick founded a complementary business called Teriyaki Stix, a restaurant specializing in chicken-bowl style Japanese food, similar to Hibachi-San. Furthermore, in 2003, the two restaurantuers started Glazies Bakery, which specialized in fresh donuts; however, in 2008 Glazies Bakery was closed. Yoasis, a healthy frozen yogurt restaurant was created by HAYATS LLC that same year. While the respective HYATS restaurants can sometimes be found individually, by design, HYATS frequently rents larger areas to furnish all three restaurant types.

In June 2009, Sopra Capital LLC, a private equity and management firm took over Hogi Yogi, Teriyaki Stix and Yoasis Brands.
