His widow Dora gave the lake and woodland behind The Kilns in Risinghurst to the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust
in 1969, and it is known as the Henry Stephens/C.S.Lewis Nature Reserve in his memory.
