The Hebrew Academy was established in 1943 by the Telz Yeshiva. It was the first Jewish day school
founded off the east coast. In 1947 a girl's division, Yavne, was added. The school currently has nearly 800 students from pre-school through high school

In 1981 the school opened expanded the Taylor Rd. facility with a new wing that included two and a half stories, eight full size classrooms, and a large, multi-purpous room on the lower level. Ivan Socolof was chairman of the building committee.
The mission as stated by the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland is to imbue all students with a love of God
