: it is one of a handful of county maintained freeways in Georgia. The Parkway has been opened in several phases: Phase I (DeRenne Avenue to Henry Street) opened in 1993. Phase II (Henry Street to President Street) opened to traffic in 1997. Phase III (DeRenne Avenue to Montgomery Cross Road) opened to traffic in 2004 with Phase IV (Eisenhower Drive to Whitefield Avenue) opening in 2005. Phases I-IV have been completed.
Phase V will complete the parkway when it opens between Whitfield Avenue to Abercorn Street Extension (Georgia 204) near Holland Avenue. Phase V, which includes the Vernon River bridge, is in progress as of March 2011 and is scheduled for completion in 2013.
