The competition ran from the 8th to 13 July 2008, and has attracted over 600 swimmers from over 66 countries with strong contingents from major swimming nations (including USA, Great Britain, Russia and Japan).

At the recent Australian Short Course Championship held in Melbourne, Australia (20–24 September '08), Grace won her first national title in the 100m Backstroke, following up with a silver medal in the 50m sprint event.
