 tribes or clans called ataks'. These ataks function mainly to denote ancestry and members consider themselves to be low in the social hierarchy.

History

Most of them migrated to Sindh and Punjab and few remained at the outskirts of Balochistan. In Gopang Tribal culture, family name is being carried forward for the eldest son who is also the leader of the family.

Gopang Baloch are also living in lower punjab Villages named Kacha Sabzani, Abad pur, Rukan pur, Chachran Shareef all of Distt. Rahimyar Khan places. They also live in Rahimyar khan itself(bahadur pur- a famous town in rahimyar khan). The gopangs strong strength and hold is in Distt Rajan pur, Rojhan, dera ghazi khan and also Bangulwali in district Muzaffargarh. The Language which is spoken there is Seraiki.
Gopang baloch are also living in Makhan bela and Rohillan wali since 300 years ago....Name of Makhan Bela is originated from Gopang Baloch Sardar Makhan khan..They also speak seraiki..

Goapangs Chiefs are known with the term of "Sardar". This tribe has some subcastes like Jiyani, sarani, bharani etc. Jiyani is the subcaste which is ruling on all tribes since emerge of Gopangs. Jiyanies are known as Sardars of gopangs. All the tribes decisions are made by Sardars.
Kacha Sabzani:Italic text Sardar Allah Bachaya Khan Jiyani(1934-2008) is one of the most famous sardars amongst Gopangs. He lead his tribe throught his scenario with honour, dignity and respect. He was in most favour of educating his tribe's all children and was very very kind heart. There are many examples of Sardar Allah Bachaya khan's memorable and bravery events. He has his own history.
