Bermann serves on the US State Department's Advisory Committee on the Hague Convention on Jurisdiction and Judgments and the American Law Institute's (ALI) Advisory Committee on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments. He has testified before Congress on numerous occasions, including before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the OPEC
