County School and University College, London. She became a teacher, lecturer and a barrister. She was married and widowed and later re-married Ian McIvor Campbell.
Corbet became active in the Labour movement, serving as secretary of the Balham and Tooting
Independent Labour Party
. She served as a councillor on the London County Council
1935-65 and acted as Chief Whip
to the Labour group there, until deposed by Bill Fiske
in 1960. She contested Lewisham East at the 1935 general election
, without success. She became a magistrate
in 1940.
