. The community was named after a family of Fraziers who settled the area in the late 18th century after migrating there from Virginia

. As the Fraziers took possession of the rich bottom land, the area became known as Fraziers Bottom and the name has stood over the years, but for a brief period of time. A short-tenured postmaster renamed the community Ruby after his wife but the name was reversed soon thereafter. Fraziers Bottom was a quiet, rural area for decades, but that begin to change when Toyota built a manufacturing facility
