Abhishek Tyagi (14), a student studying in grade 8 was shot dead by Suchismith Roy (14) and Jayarama Rao (13).

Suchismith Roy used his father's gun to kill Abhishek. Roy's father left the gun unlocked and Suchi brought the gun to school and hid it in the school toilet. After school was over, he took the gun to the school bus

 and shot Abhishek Tyagi four times at close range after handing the gun over to his friend Jayaram who shot at Abhishek once but missed.

Motive

Suchismith Roy had gotten into a fight with Abhishek Tyagi, though the fight was resolved by school authorities. The school had organised sports day

for 9 December and on that day Suchi along with his friend thought of shooting Abhishek, but their plan failed as Abhishek went to his home earlier. Suchi got angry and thought that he would definitely kill him on Tuesday as Monday was a holiday. On 11 December, Suchi got his father's gun and hid it in the washroom under the toilet seat. At the time of dispersal in the afternoon, Abhishek was going to his bus room. Suchi called out to him from behind. Abhishek's leg was stuck in the stair's grill. Suchi then approached him and fired Abhishek three times, and then asked his friend to fire.
