In 2008 KTMB purchased a total of 30 EMUs worth $67 million (USD) from a joint venture between South Korea's Hyundai Rotem Co. and Japan Mitsubishi Electric Corp. These cars are arranged in a 6-cars configuration for a total of 5 train sets. Facilities include toilets and buffet cars.
