She was rapporteur for the Safer Internet Plus Programme at the start of her term in the European Parliament. She is active on anti-terrorism, information security, data protection and privacy, and on seeking alternatives to Strasbourg as a meeting place for the European Parliament once a month. She is a core member of the Campaign for Parliamentary Reform (CPR).

She is also an observer on the European Security Research Advisory Board. She is President and Chairwoman of the European chapter of the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC).
