Geography

According to the 2000 census, the county has a total area of 516.27 square miles (1,337.1 km²), of which 511.23 square miles (1,324.1 km²) (or 99.02%) is land and 5.04 square miles (13.1 km²) (or 0.98%) is water. Early County is home to several historical attractions including Kolomoki Mounds State Park and Cohelee Creek Bridge, the southern-most covered bridge still standing, and is home to one of the last wooden flagpoles from the American Civil War
