Dorota Miśkiewicz was born on 12 September 1973 in Kłodzko, southern Poland. Her father Henryk (born 1951) is a well-known jazz saxophonist and composer. Her younger brother Michał (born 1977) would become a jazz percussionist, winning Fryderyk
