Disney Special Editions is a line of DVD
and Blu-ray Disc
releases, which are the United Kingdom
equivalents to the Platinum and Diamond Edition
s released in the United States
. The UK Special Editions line also includes Disney films not issued as Platinum and Diamond Editions, but still released in the US in named "special edition" packages (e.g. Robin Hood
: Most Wanted Edition and Dumbo
: Big Top Edition). However, the catalogue of UK Special Editions contains many more titles than the American Platinum Edition line, and does not have a determined annual release schedule.

". From 2007, UK releases were also branded as "Platinum Editions", and in 2008 the company also started releasing the "Platinum" range on Blu-Ray. The 2009 release of Snow White was released as a "Diamond Edition" on Blu-Ray only, with the accompanying DVD release branded nothing more than a "2-Disc Edition", a move which mirrored the US release.
