Summer

The temperature can get surprisingly hot in late July and early August. Rain and wind may frequent the area unpredictably. All in all, the climate is much like that of other high mountain lakes in Idaho.

  • Kokanee salmon
  • Landlock fall chinook salmon
  • Bull trout
  • Cutthroat trout
  • Other fish have been caught than those listed above (i.e. a sort of white fish), though they may or may not be commonly found

Mammals

  • Chipmunks
  • Deer
  • Grizzly bears (there are generally warnings if/when they are in the area)
  • Bats (these can be seen flying about at night by the shore)
  • Probably skunks, as they frequent other similar high mountain lakes, such as Lost Valley Reservoir (AKA Lost Lake)
