Daugavpils District is an administrative division of Latvia, located in Latgale region, in the country's south-east. It is organized into two cities and twenty one parishes, each with a local government authority. Its capital city is Daugavpils.
The district's area is 2,525.5 km2, which contains 21 parishes, 1 city and 1 region.
The district is located in Latvia's southeastern area. It borders Belarus, Lithuania, and the Latvian districts of Jekabpils, Preili and Kraslava.
Daugavpils District is situated in the geographical region of East-Latvian lowland, Latgalian eminence and Augzeme Height.

The district is located in Latvia's southeastern area. It borders Belarus, Lithuania, and the Latvian districts of Jekabpils, Preili and Kraslava.
Daugavpils District is situated in the geographical region of East-Latvian lowland, Latgalian eminence and Augzeme Height. Most of its territory is located far below sea level. Only a few landmarks are higher than 200 m above sea level. They are the following mountains Eglu kalns (220.1 m), Pikelnieku kalns (206 m), Ledinu kalns (202 m), Skrudalienas kalns (201 m). Almost all of the territory is located in the Daugava river basin. Besides the Daugava river there are many large and small rivers.
