Concept

The show brings to the audience stories of crime- where the Police have tackled the most difficult of cases and human stories where ordinary people have stood up against crimes. The show dramatizes real life crime events in a very gripping and edge of the seat form with a compelling story telling. Visually each of the stories travels to real locations. Each of the stories is threaded by a dynamic anchor presentation, again shot in real backdrop. Hosted by the popular television actor Anup Soni, Crime Patrol is the first of its kind show on Entertainment Network. Crime Patrol, a show conceived and created by Subramanian S. Iyer and developed along with Neeraj Naik is in its third season of telecast at the moment.

Crime Patrol began its first season in 2003. Conceived as a reality series, it was the first show on Indian Television where cameras traveled with the law enforcement authorities to capture crimes live. It was the predecessor to the several crime based shows on News channels. The first season was hosted by Diana Hayden. Later on the reality series was converted into a dramatized form of storytelling but still the base was real crime stories. Anwar Maan, then hosted the show.

Crime Patrol came back with the second season in January 2010. Once again as a reality series. Hosted by Anup Gony and Moeen Ali , the show came with a renewed vigor, conceptually growing to understand the "why" behind the crime besides the "how" and "when". After a successful run for 30 episodes, the show progressed to a dramatized presentation format with a very unique style of shooting and story telling.
