. It was launched in October 1996 and is owned by Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd. (MSM, formerly SET India Private Limited), a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment

and aired KBC 4 with its original host Amitabh Bachchan
on the Indian SET. KBC 1 & 2 were hosted by Amitabh Bachchan and KBC 3 was hosted by Shahrukh Khan
on STAR Plus. Kaun Banega Crorepati(KBC) Season 5 started on Sony Entertainment Television on the independence day, 15 August 2011 with its brand new 1st Episode which saw a blockbuster opening of 5.24 TVRs, in the top 3 metros Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata.
