Βiography

Constantinos Hilas was born at noon on the 18th of March 1991 in Athens, Greece. The son of the jewellery designer Maria Fameli and the poet, composer, writer and actor Pericles Hilas, Constantinos Hilas grew up in an environment that significantly encouraged artistic creation and involvement with the arts. Therefore his decision to study at the Gerakas High School of the Arts -from which he graduated in 2009- came as no surprise.

At the age of 15 he displayed his acting skills by starring in Vassilis Yatsis' short film "The Final Night" in 2006, which was awarded at the 29th International Short Film Festival in Drama, Greece. Constantinos Hilas has written and directed two short films of his own, the first of which being a 3 minutes' creation titled "The Lamp", while the second one, with total time 13' and titled "Serenity on Krinon Street", was subsidized by the Greek Film Centre under the project First Step, pertaining to young directors 12–23 years old. "Serenity on Krinon Street", a film querying the creative process and the inner search that inevidably accompanies it, participated in the 11th Olympian International Film Festival for Children and Young People, in parallel with the 8th edition of Camera Zizanio, the European Meeting of Young People's Audiovisual Creation, in Pyrgos-Illia, Greece, in 2008.
