The Colorado Storm was an American Basketball Association
(ABA) team based in Denver. Originally intended to be based in Colorado Springs, the team began play in the fall of 2004, and ceased operations in 2005. Their home arenas were Cougar Field House
at Colorado Christian University
in Lakewood, and later at the Wildcat Center at Johnson & Wales University
in Denver. Originally coached by Sheldon Jones until he took ownership of the Louisiana Cajun Pelicans
, then taken over by coach-owner Antonio "Tree" Adams, and later Eric Stoffel (later coach of the IBL's Colorado Crossover
), the Storm played one season through 2004-05. The Storm compiled a 3-13 record, winning 2 at home and 1 on the road, finishing in 6th place in the ABA's White Division. However, they did have some shining moments, particularly the play of star guard Johnny Reece, who later played for the IBL's Aurora Cavalry
.
