-born artists: Mona Casey and Paul McAree. It has nomadically existed in a variety of spaces over the course of its existence, finding new spaces as the programme evolves. This has allowed the space to respond in different ways to current issues in art practice, and to react to the changing art environment of Birmingham.

On August 21, 2008, Casey and McAree announced that COLONY was to cease all activities as the pair moved on to separate projects.
