 region, and greatly impoverished production. However, in 1883, Leon's grandson - Benjamin Leon, replanted American vines, surrounded by stone walls. This technique overcame the Phylloxera diseaseand B. Leon was honored with the Légion d'honneur by the French President in 1883.

Some of Croizet's bottles date back to the early 19th Century.

On 25 September 2011 a single bottle of Cognac Croizet 1858 was sold at auction in Shanghai, China for 1 million yuan (approx. $156,000).
