The following year he was again called up to the under-20 to compete in the 2005 IIHF World U20 Championship Division II Group B tournament. In 2008 he moved up the national senior team to compete in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Newcastle, Australia. Australia won the tournament and earned promotion to Division I for the following year. Minson rejoined the Australian team to compete in the 2009 IIHF World Championship Division I Group A tournament. Australia failed to win any of their Division I games and were relegated back to Division II for the next year.
