School activities

Carmel College students take part in a range of activities throughout New Zealand including Stage Challenge, Big Sing Choral Festival and Pacifica.

The school has a number of clubs, including chess, choir, orchestra, ski, rowing, and netball.

The new science and maths block has been completed and is currently in use. Carmel College is currently undergoing major renovations expected to continue over a period of 10 years with a new gymnasium, auditorium, chapel, and a relocation of the Nun's Residence.

Carmel celebrated its 50th Jubilee in June 2007 with a reunion of many Carmel "Old-Girls", in celebrations lasting a week with songs by the various music groups, a wall of photographic remembrance, a time capsule (destined to be dug up in the next 50 years) and more.

Subjects

Carmel has a vast range of subjects for sutedents to study. For intermediate students there is: Mathematics, English, Music, Food Technology, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Material Technology and Art. They also have the opertunity to study French, Latin, Japanesse and Maori.
