Instrumental Music

Since 2005, Campbell County High School has had 3 different band directors. Ending his employment with the high school in 2005, Steve Schofield, a percussionist and trumpet player, led the band to many successes. Following his employment, Allison Altmann, now Allison White, began working for the school in 2005 after moving from Wisconsin. Her first year with the band was a success, in the marching realm. As a band director, she had one student go to the MENC All-Northwest honors ensembles and two students participate in the Wyoming High School All-State Marching Band. She ended her employment with the school in 2009. The next band director was Christopher Lubken, a native of Gillette, WY. A trumpet player and steel drum player, he got his degree in Fairbanks, Alaska where he worked as a high school band director. He has had huge successes as a band director sending multiple students to Wyoming All-State Band and orchestra, All-American Marching Band, Wyoming High School All-State Marching Band, and MENC All-Northwest Honors ensembles. Within the first year of his work in the school district, Lubken has added, a steel drum ensemble to the instrumental program, and has received grants and funding to replace the instruments in the school district and increase the level of music education in the county, and state.

Other faculty members to work with the high school band are Karia Schofield, director of bands and Sage Valley Junior High School. Karia has worked with the color guard of the marching band many years and has helped the color guard achieve many awards at the Wyoming High School State Marching festival such as caption awards and Trooper Leadership Awards. In addition, Shilo Stroman, of Colorado considered one of the leading percussionists of his generation, worked with the drum line in 2009.
