. In 2009, both legislative branches of the State of Georgia, the Senate and the House of Representatives, passed separate resolutions commending Allen for outstanding accomplishments.
Also in 2009 he received the AGEUS Award for Individual Contribution for work in foreign relations and economic development. In 2010 the organization Les Ponts du Coeur, headquartered in France, presented Allen with their Thomas Jefferson Monument for his friendship with the People of France. It is the only such Jefferson monument of its kind in the United States.
