British Covered Court Championships

The British Covered Court Championships, (BCCC), was a tennis
Tennis

Each player uses a racket that is strung to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all...

 event held from 1885–1971. For its first five years it was held at Hyde Park Lawn Tennis Club but from 1890–1968 the tournament was played at Queen's Club
Queen's Club

 in London. From its inception it grew into a important event through the first half of the 20th century, but by the late 1950s it's stature had diminished greatly and in 1966 they couldn't find a sponsor at all. In 1968 the BCCC became part of the first Dewar Cup circuit but that was it's final year at Queens Club. In 1969 it merged with the Wembley Championship

 while continuing to be called the British Covered Court Championships and it was an official ILTF Grand Prix event in 1970 and 1971. With many players barred from competition in 1972, and no sponsors to be found, the BCCC faded into history.
