 was in charge of the selection of the Belgian entry for the 1995 Contest. The national final was held in Studio 6 of RTBF, hosted by Thierry Luthers. Ten songs competed to become that year's Belgian entrant, voted on by regional juries in Brussels and the five Francophone provinces of Belgium, alongside a professional jury. In a closely fought contest with no song dominating, Etherlinck emerged the winner by a 6-point margin, having received the highest overall score from the regional juries but placing only fourth with the professional jury.
