was given at 892 living in 341 households in the 2001 census.
The civil parish
includes the village of Barton Stacey, and the hamlets of Cocum, Bransbury, Newton Stacey, and Drayton.
Barton Stacey lies in two parts. The first to be settled, including Kings Elms, Gravel Lane and The Street, is situated around the church. Nearby to the north-east is the newer part of Barton Stacey, which lies along Roberts Road, East Road and West Road. This area was built by the Ministry of Defence
(MOD) as housing for troops that had been posted to the camp just outside the village. In the early 1990s the MOD sold many of the houses to the public, keeping some lining West Road for military personnel. Since then only a few houses have been built in the area, all privately constructed. In 2006/2007 four flats were constructed on the edge of Roman Way, in Roberts Road. A plan exists to build some low-cost housing on land currently owned by the MOD.

Barton Stacey Players - perform in the Barton Stacey Village hall and have a show once a year.
VIP's - Perform in the Barton Stacey Church and Andover lights. They put on shows about twice a year, and have a separate adult and child drama group to cater for most villagers.
The Jubilee Traditional Jazz Band (12 piece) - This band formed to do a show for the Jubilee celebrations and has been going ever since. Most of the members started out as ex-military and over time other local villagers have joined.
Cookie Monsters (5 piece)- This band was formed six years ago and unlike most bands they play music that you may not necessarily know, although you will know some.
Logical Park (5 piece) - A relatively new band to the village playing modern music.
Acoustic Brew (6 piece) - A band made up of acoustic instruments playing middle of the road type music.
, holds special events throughout the year and serves food. Lionel Hitchen Essential Oils Ltd is a supplier to the food and food flavours industry.

The Village
The village has one primary school with around 96 students. It also has activity clubs that include a Judo Club, a Football Club, two Drama Clubs and a Tuesday Club.Barton Stacey lies in two parts. Geography
Most of the land surrounding the village is owned by the MOD, and some of it is rented by local farmers. At either end of Roberts Road there are two pieces of woodland, both MOD property, but many villagers use the footpaths that have been made over the years to walk through these magnificent woodland areas.Religious buildings

Drama Groups
There are two drama groups in the village. Originally there was only one drama group but as the group got bigger there was a need to split into two and both groups cover regular shows. Information on up and coming events are available in the Village shop and tend to have signs scattered around the village. Village bands
There are four bands formed by local villagers that attend and entertain Barton Stacey and surrounding villages throughout the year. Recreation ground
The recreation ground is situated in the west of the village and contains two football pitches, a pavilion and a play park. There is a small car park in front of the village shop which is used as parking.The Football Club
Barton Stacey Football Club was established in 1919 and plays and trains on the Barton Stacey recreational ground. The club currently field four youth teams at U8, U9, U13 and U15 and a senior side. The Judo club is run by Keith Cox who first started the club in June 1997. The club meets every Friday evening in the village hall for practice. Since the club started it has entered into many competitions and done really well, winning on various occasions.Yoga
Yoga is run by Samantha Lee a local girl since 2 years old and has grown up with the village. There are 5 Yoga sessions a week for people ranging over all ages. Yoga is popular in the local and surrounding area and has helped keep the balance of hectic and local life in perspective.Local businesses
There are four main businesses in the village. They are The Village Shop, Peter Goldings LTD, The Swan Inn and Lionel Hitchen Essential Oils Ltd. The village shop provides groceries and much more, and has a post office. Peter Goldings LTD is a supplier to the garden and aquatics trade. The Swan Inn is a village pub with a B&BBed and breakfast
