The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten is the central bank
of the former Netherlands Antilles
. It is responsible for issuing the Netherlands Antillean guilder.
After the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in October 2010 the present name was adopted as the BES islands
are part of the Netherlands and thus governed by the Dutch central bank
. They also will adopt the US dollar on 1 January 2011. The bank is thus responsible only for Curaçao
and Sint Maarten and will, by 2013, replace the Netherlands Antillean guilder with the Caribbean guilder
