The traditions established by the founders of Azerbaijani jazz were continued in 1998 by Syndicate and in 1999 by Bakustik Jazz. Among contemporary Azeri jazzmen are Javan Zeynalli, Shahin Novrasli and singer Ulviyya Rahimova. Azerbaijan took part in several jazz events, such as Montreux Jazz Festival
