In 2008, AFMS opened the Year 5 purpose built classroom
block adjacent to its own playground. There has also been extensive refurbishment which includes the Year 6 block and a purpose built ICT suite, one of five situated around the school site. AFMS also boasts its own purpose built music, art and design and science blocks. A gymnasium and large playing fields ensure that a variety of sports are represented within the school year.
The Jubilee Garden and vegetable gardens, created and tended by the eco-committee, provide outside learning areas which encourage respect for the environment.
The school's motto
is "Striving for Excellence, Learning for Life" and pupils are encouraged to adopt that ethos in all that they do.
