Asiatosuchus is an extinct genus of large crocodilian. It is believed to have been a basal crocodile. Specimens have been found from Russia, Belgium, France, Germany, Mongolia, and possibly Pakistan. It existed from the Danian stage of the early Paleocene epoch to the Lutetian stage of the Eocene epoch. The type species, A. grangeri, was first discovered in 1930 from the Irdin Manha Formation of Inner Mongolia. Another species, A. germanicus, was found from the Messel Pit quarry near Messel, Germany, along with many other forms of life that inhabited subtropical forests that surrounded a series of anoxic lakes during the Eocene.
