The length of the forewings is 19-23 mm. The body and wings are very dark brown. The forewing has a pale band composed of three irregular more or less parallel narrow lines set close together, from the inner margin near the base to the costa. There is a small pale stigma, a broad pale band and a narrower pale band. The hindwings are uniform dark brown.
