Anthro was founded in 1984 by Shoaib Tareen and Cathy Filgas as a subsidiary of Tektronix

Anthro introduced the Shadow Program shortly after the company was founded in 1984. The Shadow Program designates one employee each week to observe and develop a relationship with a fellow employee in an unfamiliar department.
