SAA - Specialist Anglers' Alliancehttp://www.saauk.org. started a series of meetings and consultations to create a stronger unified governing body. Other bodies were consulted but did not merge for various reasons. The Salmon & Trout Association pulled out of the merger consultations due to the problems of Charitable Status and Charities Law in England & Wales. In Scotland there are slight differences in the law system. This merger was completed on 12 Jan 2009.
