 by political agent Kernel Singh. This was the first English school in the saurashtra (region), which was originally called Rajkot English School was founded on October 17, 1853. It later became a full fledged high school By 1868 AD. It came to be known as the Rajkot High School in 1886. It was named Alfred High School in the late 1907. The present buildings of the Alfred High School were built for Kathiawar
