Mathematical analysis
Mathematical analysis, which mathematicians refer to simply as analysis, has its beginnings in the rigorous formulation of infinitesimal calculus. It is a branch of pure mathematics that includes the theories of differentiation, integration and measure, limits, infinite series, and analytic functions...

Lagrangian system
In mathematics, a Lagrangian system is a pair of a smoothfiber bundle Y\to X and a Lagrangian density L which yields the Euler-Lagrange differential operator acting on sections of Y\to X.In classical mechanics, many dynamical systems are...

Differential game
In game theory, differential games are a group of problems related to the modeling and analysis of conflict in the context of a dynamical system. The problem usually consists of two actors, a pursuer and an evader, with conflicting goals...

His early work was on certain mathematical problems from the theory of combustion. His research to date includes a number of key results in such diverse areas as: hyperbolic systems of conservation laws and nonlinear wave equations, impulsive control of Lagrangian system, systems of Hamilton–Jacobi equations (related to non-cooperative differential games), Nash equilibrium solutions in feedback form for infinite-horizon, discounted differential games, dynamic blocking problems (mathematical models of wild fire confinement), and optimization problems for elliptic equations.
