Ahiman Louis Miner was a U.S. Representative

.
Born in Middletown, Vermont, Miner attended the common schools and Castleton Academy. He studied law in Poultney
and Rutland, Vermont. He was admitted to the bar
in 1832 and practiced in Wallingford 1833-1836. He moved to Manchester, Vermont, in 1835 and continued the practice of law. He served as clerk of the Vermont House of Representatives
in 1836-1838. He served as member of the Vermont House of Representatives in 1838, 1839, 1846, 1853, 1861 and 1865-1868. He served in the Vermont Senate
in 1840.
He was state's attorney
for Bennington County in 1843 and 1844. He then served as register of probate
for seven years, and as judge of probate 1846-1849. He was a Justice of the Peace
1846-1886.
Miner was elected as a Whig
to the Thirty-second Congress
(March 4, 1851-March 3, 1853). He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1852. He resumed the practice of law. He died in Manchester, Vermont, July 19, 1886. He was interred in Dellwood Cemetery.
