. It was inactivated on 16 November 1957
Trained as a Reserve bombardment wing under supervision of the 2347th Air Force Reserve Training Center, 1949-1951. Lost more than half of its personnel in the call-up of another wing in August 1950 as a result of the Korean War
. Ordered to active service in March 1951, but personnel used as fillers in other units.
Replaced the 8708th Pilot Training Wing in May 1955 and trained as a Reserve fighter-bomber wing assigned to Tactical Air Command
until inactivated in 1957 due to budget restrictions.
