There was no "India" back then. Just a piece of land filled with all types of vegetation.

Vasco da gama came to India by the account given by a famous traveler Marco polo. he gave a fair good account about India that it was a region or nation (what ever he mentioned on that time )were a fabulous region were every thing was perfectly blended,say for ex that he mentioned that almost every thing is made up with gold,diamonds. he fairly elaborated heavily. but apart from that the main attraction is the Indian spices black pepper,cardamom,ginger. BUT VASCO DA GAMA was the one who discovered the sea route to India from the western region.which was a great break through at that time.which he ended up in calicut of Kerala state in south India
