Was Caesar his real name or was it given to him otherwise?

Legend has it that his name could be derived in many ways. One was that he had thick hair for which the word in latin is caesaries. Another is that he had bright grey eyes for which the latin word is oculis caesiis

Legend also has it that he killed an elephant for which the word is caesai in Moorish. He issued coins with elephants on them lending weight to this theory
