Yvonne Lim is a Singaporean
actress who has starred in many drama serials on MediaCorp
Channel 8 since 1997.
Lim was the first runner-up in the Singapore Polytechnic Beauty Quest and a finalist with Go Magazine's Cover Girl Contest before she joined Star Search
in 1997. She was offered a full-time artiste contract with MediaCorp Studios and was given the lead role in her debut TV drama, Starting Point, where she played a young entrepreneur, which was well received by audiences.
She also recorded and released a solo Mandarin album in the year 2000. In 2002, she also teamed up with Hong Kong ATV station in a 30-part courtroom drama Innocently Guilty, also starring Anita Yuen

Her subsequent progress was fairly slow, mainly appearing in minor supporting roles (A Child's Hope

). Some attribute this trend to her petite build, which dwarf her in comparison to other actresses. However, her career started to pick up again in 1999 with her role of an unfortunate girl lost in the crowds of Singapore in the early 20th century in Stepping Out.
In 2005, she appeared in A New Life as a poor but contented woman and was nominated for Best Actress 2005, but lost the award to Huang Bi Ren.

In 2006, her stock rose even further when she landed the lead role in An Enchanted Life
, a story of a Taiwanese Betel Nut Girl who journeys to Singapore in search of her long lost father.

in 2007, which granted her the coveted Star Awards
2007 Best Actress Award. This award was an important milestone for her as it led to her rising popularity. The TV serial 'Metamorphosis' also won Best TV Serial in the Star Awards 2007.
Lim appeared on numerous variety and game shows, including 'Let's Party With Food!' and 'The Giant Show' in 2008, after her win for Best Actress in the Star Awards 2007.

, which was the highest rated TV drama serial of the year 2008 before The Little Nyonya made its debut in mid-November.
She has also been given a supporting role in 'Love Blossoms II', the long-running TV series in 2008.
Lim is currently starring in Your Hand In Mine
as one of the lead roles. The drama serial is 180-episode long and is the longest serial MediaCorp has ever produced. However, the reception for this series have been dismal, with the viewership hitting a new low with a single digit percentage.
Lim has been nominated for 'Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes' in the Star Awards for every single year since she joined Mediacorp in 1998. After her first win in 1998, she has not won the popularity award until 2009 where she was shocked upon hearing her name.
