). It is in a largely agricultural area and was destroyed by a mudslide during Typhoon Morakot in 2009.

Typhoon Morakot

The village was hit by a catastrophic mudslide during Typhoon Morakot in August 2009. The entire village was nearly razed to the ground by the mudslide and only one building still stood. Over 600 residents are believed to have been buried alive, while 150 residents were transported to safety after the disaster. It also made Typhoon Morakot become the deadliest typhoon hit Taiwan.

On January 15, 2011, a ground-breaking ceremony was held for Xiaolin No. 2 at a 5.81 ha (58,100 m³) plot of land where 120 permanent houses will be built for survivors of the mudslide.
