History
The school first opened as Willow Glen School in November 1863, where it was located on Lincoln and Malone Road. Due to a growing community, a larger school was built in 1897 on the corner of Lincoln and Minnesota and was named Willow Glen Elementary School. Neighboring four-room buildings were constructed to accommodate growing class sizes, until a new two-story building was constructed in 1924. The 1924 school remained in use until 1971 when another single-story building was constructed in order to comply with the "earthquake-proof" requirements of the 1933 Field ActField Act
