to 1964

He was a relative of the Earls St Aldwyn
. He married Diana (née Hoare) (1911–2002), daughter of Christopher Gurney Hoare, on 12 September 1939, and they had two daughters, Elizabeth Hinson and Rosemary Naylor, and one son, Mark Hicks Beach (1943–1998).
He is buried in the The Blessed Virgin St Mary's Churchyard, at Great Witcombe in Gloucestershire
