Facilities and Courses

The sports complex facilities are as follows; a 25m swimming pool, a 10m swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness suite, a 52m sports hall, a meeting room (named in honour of Lord Louis Mountbatten), a creche, a cricket field, an athletics track, a concrete tennis court and a cafe.

History

In 1977 the local village committee managed to obtain the funding to build a 25m swimming pool in Freshwater for the local swimming club to train in. This was originally a primitive site with portable changing rooms, however after a few years the building was refurbished. In 1991 a 10m pool was added to the facilities. Then in 1999 the biggest overhaul yet was to come. The committee made a successful bid for a multi-million pound grant from the Sports Council and the National Lottery
