Also he was a teacher at The Royal Manchester College of Music (RNM) and also Manchester University. He was also acting as a music advisor to the local education authority. He composed many piano pieces for children. One of his pieces, "Alone at Sunset", is included in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
