 format in the Greater St. Louis area. A member of National Public Radio. WSIE is a 50,000-watt station (88.7FM), owned and operated by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, with studios on the SIUE campus.

WSIE has always been a training ground for students. Among broadcasters who received training at WSIE are Frank O. Pinion (John Craddock), Megan Lynch, Ralph Graczak, Tom Calhoun, Dewayne Staats, Paul Schankmann, Elizabeth Erwin, Steve Jankowski, Sara Wojcicki, Frank Akers (WSIE's current general manager), Tom Dehner (WSIE's current news director) and Tom Casey.
